Slum Development has become big business in big towns. With the land supply shrinking, SRA has emerged and drawn massive investments. It is also a fact that health of the slum dwellers deteriorates due to poor living conditions. The government of Maharashtra passed slum Rehabilitation Act 1995. This act serves to protect the rights of the slum dwellers while also aiding the development of large land parcels under such slums.
